Learn a Skill

Under this project, Humanity First Liberia has established a Computer institute where it offers low cost quality computer education and also provide scholarships to orphans and needy.

Humanity First Liberia (HFL) launched its very first computer school on January 22, 2007 in Monrovia, Liberia in cooperation with Humanity First Institute of Computer Studies (HFICS). HF efforts have enabled the purchase and shipment of computers to Liberia, and the development of course curriculum, ultimately sowing the seeds of a professional IT team. The hope is that students of the computer school will use their new skills to support themselves and their families.

In pursuit of the educational goals and aspirations of Liberia’s technical advancement as outlined by Hon. Yonton Kesselly, Liberia’s Assistant Minister or Professional and Technical Education, HFL’s objective in launching such a program is to introduce professional computer and technological training.

Valued at $25,000 US the five-year computer and technology training program enrolled 90 students at the very outset of its opening. It is expected that lot of Liberians will benefit from this institute and become productive citizens.
